Charlie's Gran  / Jane Whittingham (friend)

Dear Charlie,

I am sorry it has taken me so long to write.
I am very proud of this site and your
Gran would be thrilled.
Well done and remember everything
will be fine and you must keep smiling
because that is what Gran expects from you.

Your Gran was a very strong lady
and she expects the same from you.
I will never forget the lunch
I had with her just before she died......
she was such a special lady who cared so
much about her special eldest Granddaughter.
You were really lucky she was your Gran!!!!
Take care..
keep the smile on your face,
 sunshine girl   Love from Jane

You never said "I'm leaving," You never said "Goodbye,"  / Charlie (grandaughter)

You never said "I'm leaving,"
You never said "Goodbye,"
You were gone before they knew it,
and only God knew why.
A million times they needed you,
A million times they've cried,
If love alone could save you,
 you never would have died.
In life they loved you dearly,
in death they love you still,
In their heart's you hold a place,
that no one could ever fill.
It broke their heart to lose you,
but you didn't go alone,
for a part of them went with you
, the day God called you home.

Charlie's Special Gran  / Heather Ayres (Friend of Charlie's )

I never met Sheila, but feel as though I know her through Charlie. It's been lovely to see photos and share Charlie's memories of her Gran, whom she so deeply loved. Sheila was a very special person, sadly missed by Charlie and all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace

One year today  / Charlie

It's been one year today, Lord, since
My Grandmother came to you

And still the pain I feel is almost as new
As it was on the day when you called her home.

When, Oh Lord, will I cry no tears--
Not till I'm in Heaven for endless years?
I must stop and think of her happy state
And know that for me I just have to wait--
Until the day when all tears will cease
And you will have called me into your peace.

Oh, Lord, I miss her so much more than words can say;
Give me strength to live each day
and face each tomorrow,
To know that ahead is joy unspeakable,
with no more sorrow.

Help me to tell others the story
of Jesus and His great love
that caused Him to leave His home above
and come to this earth to teach us the way
that we should live to be with Him some day.

What did He give?
His own life for me,
He gave so free
All I can do is accept His grace
and live for Him until I see his face.

In Flanders Fields - a poem by Dr. John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Gran i came to your grave today  / Charlie Hefford (Grandaughter)
Gran, I went to your grave today
And as I was there, I tried to pray
But though I know it is the thing to do
to go now and then to visit you.
I also know that you are not there,
But abiding in Heaven
so glorious and fair.

The grief is still here
 and will be I fear
Until the day the Lord calls me home.
 His glories to share
And reunites us over there.
