Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website is created in the memory of our loved one Shelia Jones who was born in The UK on June 25th 1929 and passed away on September 14th 2004 at the age of 75. We will remember her forever. Please would my friends who knew Shelia be honoured 2 light a candle and pay respects to my dear gran/ Soul Mate and best friend  who is looking down on all of us who knew her.

The sort of things I remember about my gran were the holidays I went on to Cornwall and Dorset 2 see some friends. She had a french friend called Salima. When I was 5 she lived in a flat at Kemble Close which was cool. She used to leave me at her neighbours Flat who was called Jenny. Gran was the 1 who used to look after all the other residents.

When I was very young. Mum and gran used to take me to White Lodge Centre and as I am slightly disabled I remember I used to kneed my baby legs into grans knees while mum drove the car there for physio
,

When i was about 10 she moved to Warrick Court in Weybridge. She worked in the pub oppisite called The Brittish Volenteer where we fell in love with the puppies. 1 in particular called Cassie I only went back to White Lodge 6 years ago and got my picture in the Surrey Herald on a Bucking Bronco, Yeehaa I was 15.

Bennetts Close was her next flat that she used to call Mole City or the Squat because of the size. I found that quite funny but then I found all her jokes funny like when I would say May I have a drink please gran and she would say Sure Darling what would you like? Apple or Chocolate. Oh sorry darling i do not have any. Lemonade do you.

Then Charlie I am joking. I know gran i am not silly I am your queen of your heart and Jellow and Apple Pie remember. Which is why she was so special unique and kind allways there to lend a hand whenever we needed her 24/7.

Gran had a lot of jobs on when I went to see her, She used to rub my leg in cream when it got achey and cut my toenails in soda crystalls so they were nice and soft when she cut them. Then she moved to a residential home in Cobham. Where I got the chance to do her shopping except for wine and fags but hey thats true. We also had a friend there called Pauline.

Her love of Country and Irish music were great. We used to listen to Carpenters and Abba is well cool. She also loved Patsy Cline, Don Williams, Kenny Rogers and Sean Wilson are just a few to be named.  I wonder where that tape is now I know it is here somewhere  But you can not forget Elvis as he is King of Rock.

Gran and I allways had dreams of going to Ireland to see some friends. Maybe it will come true one day. Her Maiden Name was Regan.

We also played Games like Checkers that i allways used to beat her at that game. ludo, cards  one of my faveourites were Old Maid where you take a queen out of the pack. and deal the rest out. Then you have to deal the rest out and then take out all your pairs untill 1 person is left with the old maid. Sticky Labels was also a classic where 1 person goes out of the room and the other people think of a famous person or character i/e Frankie Detori. Then  you come back and have it stuck on your forehead and you have to try and guess who it is but you can only ask yes or no questions. Like is it a male/female? Is he a singer.

We also went up 2 the Science museum a lot. That was cool loads of hands on and things to see and do, She even came to Guys Hospital with me because I was having my leg done in plaster for my splint and as I hated having them done mum/gran would take me to have lunch in a restaurant called Sweeny Todds to cheer me up.
I would also introduce gran to my friend Julie but i don't have to go there no more. I loved that restaurant.

I also loved going to The Plough in Cobham that is a cool restaurant we even have a friend there called Kit who is Irish.

When I used to sleep over at weekends I used to go over about 9:30 after Rangers on Friday nights and gran would also come to see the xmas lights. She would also wash my hair in Vinegar, and everytime i had that done i would stick out my tounge to catch the drops.

Gran would also give me a little Cornish Pastie around that time as she allways knew how hungry I was.
Then when I woke up in the morning what i really loved was that gran would come in and sit on the bed and wash my face with a nice hot flannel.

Then i would have some Apple Juice and a Bakewell Slice (yumy) 12 years ago at xmas. There was us 5. Gran came over for xmas day and the year was 94. Gran stayed for lunch and after that we all opened our pressents

I got an angel with a candle in it but i could not get it out.

Another thing i remember was when we all went to Hastings for the day. I went on the go karts first of all with a young man so i could get the feeling of them and see how they worked then i went on my own. We then went and had Fish and chips but i had Shepheards pie that was funny and she allways helped me cut up my meat when we had roasts.

Another thing was when me and gran would go over to Jane's for lunch in the summer. We would have salad and i would introduce gran to Jane's children. Emma James Thomas and Eddie.
After that we would walk into Weybridge and we would sometimes see Paul Emmason from school and said hi.

On Wednesday Afternoons Gran would come and pick me up from school and we would also go to the discos/bingo there. We would sit next to Miss Lambert and her son called Sam. I helped gran with her ticket and shout Bingo. We won the big hifi system that Miss Harrison brought down.

When I was 16/18 One Sunday Gran came to the Fortune Centre with her neice Shelia Brooks to have lunch. We sat at the table on the right with Miss Andrews. Sarah dished up i think it was Roast lamb After that I played Table Tennis with Shelia's son Tom. While I was there Gran would video eastenders for me as i  could not watch it every week as i was working.

I  used to go to Percroft and so that I would not get picked on by this girl called Margaret. Gran would take me to The Ship for lunch Gran never really ate much but i would allways give her some of mine especialy at the Homestead  I would have Spaghetti Bolagnaise and a Pistacio Milkshake. We would also go there for my birthday

In July i had just finnished at the Fortune Centre and i was going to have a massive party with a Marquee. There were a lot of my friends there like Jane Danielle Jess and a load of grans to like Becky/Andy/Sylvia.

On Saturday mornings Gran would take me 2 gym club that would last for an hour
She would allways watch me then 15/minutes be4 i left she would buy me a sausage roll for breakfast yumy

On the 15th of April was when it got tough. This is hard man. Gran was not feeling well.. Dad went over with Sophie and I phoned every half hour to see how she was. We then took gran to St Peters. At 8pm and came home 2am the next morning. We did not even know what she had wrong but she had pnumonia.  What is
Pneumonia

I phoned my best mate Jane every day to let her know how she was. Me and Sophie got my room ready in case she was coming home but we did not know. After 3 months passed. Gran came and lived with us at home I was the one on Granny duty whenever mum was working. I really enjoyed giving gran her medication, We allways had dinner together and watched TV  in her bedroom which is/was the study. Laugh out loud I even gave up my Clubs for her Bless her.

When i found out that she had died i was all over the shop needed some friends, Then the Funerall came up and you can read it all on the tributes page Feel free 2 read.
I would also like to say a big thankyou to Jane and Gail who were there for me when I told them what happened because they told me that everything would be fine and to keep smiling.

I will always remember you Granny Shelia for all that you have given me. The strength you showed clear up to the end.  The memories that you have given to me will forever be in my heart.  I love you and I miss you so much.  Give Grandad Tom hugs and kisses from me and let him know that I love and miss him too.  You two can hold on to each other and I will hold on to the memories until we meet again. HUGS AND KISSES TO BOTH OF YOU!! We will remember you forever!!

Grandmother

Grandmother hugs and Grandmother kisses,
Hot oven cookies and holiday wishes,
Attics with treasures of children grown old,
Stories of magic and princes so bold,
Oceans of patience and rainbows of love,
A bright ray of sunshine sent from above,
You stirred my childhood with rich, golden days,
Touching my life in so many ways.
When shadows are dark,
I reach through the night,
The love of a Grandmother shines like a light.

You've got a friend

Sung and wrote by McFly

When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yeah,
To see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend.

If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.

You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, oh yes i will, you've got a friend.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter spring summer or fall, all you've got to do is call.
and I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.

You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend
